Though we have a last Wreath II petal meeting and Iris Show coming up, we held our end of the year reception. The girls received their Divine Mercy badges at Mass.
The girls cooked breakfast for the troop and families. A miscommunication meant that we failed to turn on the hood and the buttery griddle filled the kitchen with smoke which set off the fire alarm calling up the fire department. All was soon righted and our reception continued. The girls received an Iris Society badge for all our work in floriculture. The girls took turns sharing their favorite memories of the year. The Knights of Columbus chose one Little Flower to present their award for outstanding service. We watched a slideshow of all the events from the year.
Following the iris show and petal meeting, we'll have at least three events to gather for over the summer. We're planning a Grant's Farm tour, riverfront expedition, and weekend camp canoe and cave exploration. We're also at the ready for any service we can provide to our parish as it arises. The summer events are a good opportunity to invite a friend to see what Little Flowers is all about.
