Rocket Launch 8/30/20

Little Flowers met at Buder Park for a Back to School Blast Off. The girls launched the model rockets they had made. They earned St. Cupertino aviation badges. St. Jospeh Cupertino 1603-1663 lived a life of heroic virtue and was always joyful. He is the patron of aviators because of his gift of levitation. His feet were known to lift off the ground when he was deep in prayer. He is also a good saint to ask for help when studying for a test. The girls developed skills in rocket modeling, were taught the parts of a rocket, and basic principals of aeronautics. They also practiced skills in patience, trial and error, and resiliency in disappointment when rockets were lost in trees.

We passed out vests at this meeting and soon learned that they run small. In the future, we will have vests for K-3 and sashes for grades 4-8.

St Joseph Cupertino, Pray for Us!
