Our troop assisted at the Iris Society tent to sell rhizomes during the Greentree Festival. They sold out!
Our Leader Flowers planned out the petal meeting and badge work for the camping trip.
We had amazing fall weather for our camping trip and spelunking. We started off Wreath 3 with a lesson on Eutrapelia, which means "Good Wit." The virtue is about finding a good balance between work and play, and always seeking ways to be pleasant and cheerful towards others. We learned about Martha and Mary and earned our Martha cooking badge by preparing and serving all the campfire meals. The girls gathered together before the trip to plan the menu. We learned the verse, So whatever you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God. -1 Corinthians 10:30.
The dandelion is an example of the balance between work and play. The dandelion works well as a medicine and food, but is also so fun to blow or weave into crowns. To earn the Eutrapelia petal we played and worked while camping.
We had fun exploring Meramec Caverns and the river bank as well.
May we grow in the virtue of Eutrapelia. Martha and Mary, Pray for Us!
