Responsibility Petal Meeting and Gardening

The Little Flowers gathered at our Iris garden to put it for bed for the winter and plant new rhizomes given to us by the American Iris Society. We learned about St. Fiacre and earned our gardening badge. The flower representing the Responsibility petal is the Mum.

We earned our Responsibility petal and practiced being responsible with sharp objects as we made jack-o-lanterns. A great model for the virtue of responsibility is St Anne, the mother of Mary and grandmother of Jesus.

The girls memorized the verse,  For each one will bear his own load. -Galations 6:5 and put it into practice by hauling their pumpkins during a game of follow the leader.

We discussed our responsibilities at home and school looking at chores through the lens of virtue. Be sure to make the chore chart found on the back of the petal sheet.
