The girls participated in a corporal work of mercy by cleaning the house of someone recovering from surgery, their troop leader! We learned all about St Zita, the patroness of housekeepers and the virtue of orderliness. The girls took turns sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, changing sheets, and cleaning bathrooms. They had fun playing a game at the same time. The girls have a chore chart they can complete at home while planning out the tasks they can do to contribute to the help of the family. Give her a reward for her labors and let her works praise her at the gates. -Proverbs 31:31
The Morrises stopped by to present Iris awards to Avery, Gigi, and Greta. They also invited us to participate in an essay contest with cash prizes. We will learn more about this opportunity at our December meeting.
Previously, our youth leaders gathered to plan the petal and badge meeting while helpers prepared the Advent Candles for sale.
We nearly sold out of our stock of Advent Candles this year. Thanks to all who helped sell them cheerfully after Masses and at the Grandparents Association Advent Bash.
